# Pricing Plans, Trial, and Billing

Box bundles can become one of the strongest revenue drivers in your store, but the plan you pay for should feel predictable and matched to what your boxes actually earn.

*Easify Box Bundle Builder* is priced around your box performance, with a clear free starting point, simple tiers, and stronger support as you scale.

### Plans overview

Monthly Box Revenue (MBR) means revenue from boxes built with Easify only, counted inside your Shopify billing cycle.

| Plan | MBR limit per billing cycle | Price | Estimated ROAI \* | Support | Extra services included |
| ------------ | --------------------------- | -------------- | --------------------------------- | ----------------------------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| Start (Free) | Less than **$500**          | $0             |                                   | 24/7 support (standard priority)    |                                        |
| Grow         | Less than **$5,000**        | **$29**/month  | About 17x to 172x                 | 24/7 support (higher priority)      | Box design customization support       |
| Scale        | Less than **$25,000**       | **$99**/month  | About 51x to 253x                 | 24/7 support (priority)             | Priority onboarding and guided support |
| Thrive       | **Unlimited**               | **$199**/month | Starts around 126x, scales higher | 24/7 VIP support (highest priority) | Custom integration support             |

*\*Estimated Return On App Investment (ROAI) is calculated as Net Gain (Monthly Box Revenue minus the plan subscription fee) divided by the plan subscription fee within the same billing cycle.*

### What counts as Monthly Box Revenue

Monthly Box Revenue (MBR) = Revenue from Easify Boxes only.

Not included:

* Your total store revenue
* Revenue from non-box items, even if they’re purchased in the same order

Example:\
A customer buys:

* A box for $70
* Another product for $20 (not part of the box)

Order total: $90\
MBR counted by Easify: $70

### Live Stores: Trial and Billing flow

#### Pick a plan to start your 14-day free trial

> After you install the app, you’ll land on Onboarding. Select a plan & start your trial.

A quick note that prevents confusion:

* The free trial **applies to all plans**, including *Start (Free)*.
* So even if you want to stay on *Start (Free)*, you still select *Start (Free)* to start the trial.

If you close the onboarding by accident, no problem. You can go to the **Pricing** page to select a plan and kickstart the trial.

Until a plan is selected and the trial is started, *the app stays locked*. That means you won’t be able to create boxes or explore features yet.

Once your trial is active, you can comfortably:

* Create and publish your first box
* Explore all features
* Test the full flow (product page → cart → checkout → order)

**Trial sales:** You can also get real sales during the trial. Trial sales are not counted toward MBR for billing.

**One-time trial:** The 14-day trial is one-time per live store. If you uninstall and reinstall later, the trial won’t restart. If you still have remaining trial days, it will continue from where it left off.

> **Why do we have to start a trial if there’s a Free plan?**
>
> Since *Easify Box Bundle Builder* is revenue-based, Shopify requires a plan selection to unlock the app on a Live store.
>
> Quick comparison:
>
> * **Revenue-based Paid apps (or “free for development stores only”)**: They ask you to start a trial after install, and once the trial ends, you pay automatically on a live store.
> * **Feature-based Freemium apps**: You can start using the Free plan right away, and you only pay when you choose to upgrade for more features.
> * **Easify Box Bundle Builder – Revenue-based Freemium**: All features are available on all plans. Your plan is based on how much your Easify boxes earn. So, you need to start a 14-day trial to unlock the app, even if you plan to stay on the *Start (Free)* plan.
>
> In summary, the trial is the unlock step, and the Free plan is real for Live stores.

#### What happens after the trial

Before we talk about charges, here’s the idea behind our pricing:

* Most bundle apps only let Live stores use Paid plans. They may offer “Free” for Development stores, but once you install on a live store, you start a trial and then you are charged as soon as the trial ends.
* ***Easify Box Bundle Builder***** is different**. We keep a **True Free** plan for Live stores, so you can launch, validate demand, and grow first.

To make everything crystal clear, there are 2 simple rules you must remember:

1. **Start (Free)** is a Real Free plan for Live stores, but it is *not a lifetime* lock.\
   Start (Free) applies while your Monthly Box Revenue (MBR) stays ***under $500*** in a billing cycle.
2. If you choose a **Paid plan** to start the trial, that Paid plan becomes your Base plan after the trial.\
   So when the trial ends, Shopify charges that plan price *even if your MBR is under $500*, because you chose a paid plan level for that billing cycle.

After the 14-day trial ends, Shopify starts your first billing cycle and **resets MBR back to $0**.

#### Path A: You started the trial on *Start (Free)*

What this means for you:

* The trial ending does not automatically mean you get charged.
* You pay $0 as long as your MBR stays *under $500* in that billing cycle.
* You are only charged if your boxes actually *reach $500 or more* in that cycle, and the charge matches the tier your box revenue reached.

Examples:

* MBR $0 or $400 → Start (Free) → $0 charged
* MBR $3,000 → Grow ($29) charged
* MBR $12,000 → Scale ($99) charged
* MBR $40,000 → Thrive ($199) charged

You can start on a Live store, make sure boxes work for your business, and stay free until your box sales grow past $500.

#### Path B: You started the trial on a paid plan – *Grow, Scale, or Thrive*

This path is for merchants who already expect to be in that range, or want the extra hands-on support included in higher plans.

What this means for you:

* When the trial ends, Shopify charges the paid plan you selected as your ***base plan for the first billing cycle***.
* During that billing cycle, your MBR is tracked from $0.
* If your MBR stays within your plan limit, you won’t be charged more.
* If your MBR exceeds your plan limit, Shopify charges only the difference so your total matches the correct tier.

Examples:

* Selected Grow ($29), MBR $0 → total charged **$29**
* Selected Grow ($29), MBR $4,000 → total charged **$29**
* Selected Grow ($29), MBR $20,000 → correct tier Scale ($99) → extra charged **$70**
* Selected Scale ($99), MBR $40,000 → correct tier Thrive ($199) → extra charged **$100**

You are not “charged twice”. You pay for 1 plan level for 1 billing cycle. The only time you see an additional charge is when your box revenue grows into a higher tier, and Shopify simply adjusts you to the correct plan level.

#### Quick Summary

* Want the lowest risk start? Select *Start (Free)*. You stay *$0* while MBR stays *under $500*.
* Want a higher support level right away? Select a paid plan. You will pay that plan after trial, and only pay more if MBR exceeds its limit.

### How Shopify Billing Cycles Work

#### 1) Shopify bills apps by billing cycles, not calendar months

Shopify doesn’t bill apps by “January” or “February”. App subscriptions are billed in **30-day cycles**, and the dates are based on when the charge becomes active.

Tip: You can always see your exact app charge dates and the covered period inside Shopify Billing.

#### 2) What “Monthly Box Revenue” means in billing terms

In Easify, **Monthly Box Revenue (MBR)** is counted **inside your current Shopify app billing cycle**.

* When a new billing cycle starts, MBR starts again from **$0** for that cycle.
* Throughout the cycle, your MBR accumulates based on **Easify box revenue only**.
* At the end of the cycle, your plan for the next cycle is based on the tier your MBR reached.

This keeps your plan changes aligned with the same billing window Shopify uses for recurring app charges.

#### 3) Shopify handles the billing charge, not us

All app subscription charges are processed through Shopify and appear on your Shopify bill as app charges (third-party charges). We can’t charge you directly outside Shopify for the subscription.

If anything looks off (dates, amounts, or plan tier), just **contact us via in-app live chat**. We’ll help you check your billing cycle dates, your MBR for that cycle, and what Shopify charged.

### Development Stores

You can install *Easify Box Bundle Builder* on a Development store and test your full box setup. All features are available to explore and build with.

While the store is still in Development mode, you’ll see a small Easify watermark on the storefront. That’s expected, and it’s only there during testing.

**When your store goes Live:**

* Open the app
* Go to the **Pricing** page
* Select a plan to start the 14-day free trial on your Live store

> **Once a plan is selected, the watermark will be removed automatically.**

**Notes:** Even if you have spent a lot of time testing on a Development store, you still get a **full 14-day free trial** on the Live store. This gives you time to test again in real conditions before any billing starts.

### Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

#### Which plan should we start with?

If you’ve never used revenue-based pricing before, the easiest approach is to pick based on how you want to begin, not on features (all features are available on all plans).

**1) *****Start (Free)***** is the most common starting point**\
You can set up, launch, and test your full box flow comfortably. You stay at $0 while your Monthly Box Revenue (MBR) is under $500 in a billing cycle.\
If your box revenue goes over $500 in a cycle, Shopify simply charges the tier that matches that cycle. If revenue is lower in the next cycle, your charge drops with it.

**2) Choose *****Grow, Scale, or Thrive***** if you want more hands-on help from our team from the start**\
These plans are for support and services, not feature unlocks. They’re helpful when you want faster guidance, smoother setup, or you already expect higher box revenue soon.

* Grow ($29): higher-priority support + help customizing your box design
* Scale ($99): priority support + guided onboarding and setup help
* Thrive ($199): VIP support + custom integration help

> No matter which plan you select, you’re covered: ***a full-feature 14-day trial, 24/7 in-app live chat support, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.***

#### How will we be charged after the 14-day trial ends?

After the trial ends, Shopify starts your first billing cycle and ***MBR resets to $0*** for that cycle. What you pay depends on the plan you selected to start the trial.

**1) If you selected *****Start (Free)***\
After trial, you stay at $0 unless your boxes earn *$500 or more* in that billing cycle.

* MBR under $500: $0
* MBR reaches $500+: Shopify charges the matching tier for that cycle

Example: You selected *Start (Free)*. In your first billing cycle your boxes earn $0 or $400, you pay $0. If they earn $3,000, you pay $29 (Grow tier).

**2) If you selected *****Grow, Scale, or Thrive***

That plan becomes your Base Plan for the billing cycle. This means Shopify will charge that plan price when the trial ends, *even if your boxes have not earned revenue yet.*

Then, during the cycle:

* If your MBR stays within that plan’s limit, you pay nothing extra.
* If your MBR passes the plan limit, Shopify only *charges the difference* so your total matches the correct tier.

Examples (started on Grow $29):

* Boxes earn $0: you pay $29
* Boxes earn $4,000 (still under $5,000): you pay $29
* Boxes earn $20,000 (moves into Scale tier $99): Shopify adds $70, total $99

If you want your first bill to start at $0 and only change when your boxes start selling, select Start (Free) to begin the trial. If you start on a paid plan, expect that plan price to be charged when the trial ends, because it becomes the base plan for your first billing cycle.

#### Why are we charged even though we chose the *Start (Free)* plan?

*Start (Free)* is free only while your Monthly Box Revenue (MBR) stays ***under $500*** within the current Shopify billing cycle.

If your box revenue reaches $500 or more in that cycle, Shopify automatically charges the plan tier that matches what your boxes earned.

This can feel surprising because you did not actively upgrade, but the plan is ***performance-based, not upgrade-based***.

Examples (in one billing cycle):

* MBR <$500 → *Start (Free)* → $0 charged
* MBR $500 → *Grow* tier reached → $29 charged
* MBR $5,000 → *Scale* tier reached → $99 charged
* MBR $25,000 → *Thrive* tier reached → $99 charged

#### Are we charged twice if our MBR grows into a higher tier in the same billing cycle?

**No.** You pay for one plan level per billing cycle.\
If your MBR grows beyond your plan limit, Shopify ***only charges the difference*** so your total matches the correct tier.

Example: Selected *Grow ($29)*, reached *Scale ($99)*. Shopify charges an additional *$70* so the total becomes *$99* for that cycle.

#### What is Monthly Box Revenue (MBR)?

MBR is the revenue from boxes built with *Easify Box Bundle Builder* only, tracked within your current Shopify app billing cycle.

It starts counting ***after*** your 14-day trial ends. Trial sales are not counted toward billing.

> MBR ***includes*** box revenue from Easify boxes only.
>
> It ***does not include***:
>
> * Your total store revenue
> * Revenue from non-box items, even if they’re purchased in the same order
> * Any box sales during the 14-day trial

Example: If an order includes a *$70* box and a *$20* non-box item, the order total is *$90* but MBR counted by Easify is *$70*.

#### What if our MBR is higher (>) one cycle and lower (<) the next?

That’s completely fine. Your tier is based on the MBR you reach in each billing cycle, so your monthly app subscription fee can *move up or down* as your box revenue changes.

#### What if something looks wrong?

Please don’t worry, and don’t spend time trying to figure it out alone.

***Message us in the in-app live chat*** and we’ll check everything with you quickly. We’ll confirm your Shopify billing cycle dates, your MBR for that same cycle, and the tier Shopify applied, then explain the charge in a clear breakdown.

If anything is incorrect, we’ll help you resolve it and guide you to the best next step.

#### Do you offer refunds if it is not a fit?

**Yes.** Our **30-day money-back guarantee** starts *from the day Shopify makes your first paid app charge* (after the 14-day trial).

If the app isn’t right for your store, just message us within the next 30 days. We’ll help you sort it out quickly, and if you still want a refund, we’ll help arrange it under our policy.

#### Is the 14-day trial One-time only?

**Yes**, one-time per live store.

If you uninstall and reinstall later, the trial *won’t restart*.

If you still have remaining trial days, it will *continue* from where it left off.

#### Can we get real sales during the trial?

**Yes.** You can publish boxes and sell as usual during the trial.

Those trial sales are not counted toward billing.

#### Can we test on a Development store first?

**Yes.** You can install and test everything on a Development store. When your store goes live, select a plan on the *Pricing* page to start the 14-day live-store trial. The watermark will be removed automatically once a plan is selected.

#### Why do I see the Watermark on the box page on the storefront? How do we remove it?

The watermark usually shows on a Development store (or when your live store hasn’t selected a plan yet). It’s there for two reasons:

* It marks this as a preview/testing storefront while you’re setting things up.
* Many merchants install a few box builder apps to compare. The small watermark makes it easy to recognize “this box page is built by Easify” at a glance.

When you’re ready to go live, just activate the app on your live store:

* Open the app
* Go to the Pricing page
* Select a plan to start the 14-day trial

Once a plan is selected, the watermark is removed automatically.

If you ever still see it after that, message us in 24/7 live chat and we’ll help right away.

#### How do I Upgrade the plan?

In most cases, you don’t need to do anything. If your Monthly Box Revenue (MBR) grows into a higher tier during the billing cycle, Shopify automatically adjusts the charge to match that tier.

If you upgrade manually from the **Pricing** page (for example, because you want higher-priority support and included services), Shopify won’t charge you twice. It will only charge the difference so your total for the current billing cycle matches the new tier.

Example: You are on Grow ($29) and switch to Scale ($99) in the same billing cycle. Shopify adds $70, so the total becomes $99 for that cycle.

#### How do we Downgrade the plan?

To downgrade, open the app’s **Pricing** page → select the lower plan you want.

**Important:** Downgrades apply to the next billing cycle. Shopify does not refund or credit the current cycle when you downgrade mid-cycle.

What this means:

* If you already started a billing cycle on a paid plan, that charge is for the current cycle and stays the same.
* Your lower plan will take effect automatically when the next billing cycle begins.
* Your next bill will follow the new base plan (unless your MBR in that next cycle reaches a higher tier).

#### What happens to my Billing & MBR if I uninstall and reinstall the app?

After reinstalling the app, you’ll need to ***select a plan and approve the charge again*** to reactivate the app.

**Billing: will I be charged twice?**

No, not for the same billing cycle.

* Same plan: no new charge, just approve to reactivate.
* Lower plan: no new charge in the current cycle. The lower plan applies from the next cycle.
* Higher plan: Shopify charges only the difference for the rest of the current cycle. The higher plan applies from the next cycle.

If you reinstall after the previous billing cycle ends, a new billing cycle starts and you’ll be charged based on the plan you select.

**MBR: does it reset?**

* Reinstall within the same billing cycle: your MBR is saved and continues counting for that cycle.
* Reinstall after the cycle ends: MBR resets and starts counting again when you select a plan and activate billing.

#### Will my box bundles and analytics data be deleted if I uninstall the app?

We understand you might uninstall for many reasons, testing, redesigning your store, switching themes, or just taking a break.

The good news is your box bundles and analytics from before uninstall are still saved in the app.

If you reinstall later, you can continue where you left off with your previous box setup and analytics history still available, so you won’t need to rebuild everything again.
